I will dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really proceeding.
